Father’s Day gift list for 2020

11 June 2020

Whether you think it is commercial nonsense or not, a day to celebrate a human you love must be a good thing right now. The last few months have been stressful, and we expect our dear old dads to brave it out and carry on regardless. This year’s Father’s Day is a good excuse to make someone you love feel special. Who’s in?

Aside from letting him watch what he wants on TV and allowing him to potter in the shed to his heart’s content, I have collated together a gift idea top 10 that may inspire you. They are items that dads may not ever consider buying for themselves but would be delighted to receive. They range from £9.95 to hopefully offer gift options that are affordable in these testing times.

  1. Jack sock There are several socks on this list as good socks are a decent gift and they are cost conscious. This iconic design is a colourful and fun celebration of British-ness.
  2. Skull sock Last of the socks, I promise, and these are for the rebel dad! These are 100% cotton and have been awarded the Royal Warrant by His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. They are made with a heavyweight cotton – think rugby socks without the cling – and are designed to give a casual loose fit above the ankle.
  3. Gift voucher I know…let him choose his own gift, what are we thinking? Joking aside, online shopping may be preferable right now even though some stores are opening next week. Go on, let him browse to his heart’s content!
  4. Rory card holder No jokes needed re moths here! This card holder was handmade in the UK using premium leather. There is a huge amount of work involved stitching and sealing the edges of this apparently simple and functional piece.
  5. Yacht pocket square In three different colours, each handkerchief is presented in a small blue and gold foiled box making them a perfect gift. If your Dad is not a seafaring type, then we have pocket squares in stag, safari, paisley, hare and sporting designs too.
  6. Small bean braces Not just any old braces, these come in a paisley-style pattern with leather button fixings and clasp fixings so that you can choose which method you want to use and remove the method you don’t. They are one size fits all with adjustable clasps.
  7. Rhinefield shoe care kit This might seem a boring gift, but a quality shoe care kit is incredibly useful and a real keeper. This generous travel size leather bag comes with two cream polishes in black and brown, one small cream applicator brush, one pale bristle buffing brush, a shoehorn and a small polishing cloth.
  8. Pig tie A Father’s Day favourite, we have sensible Union Flags, crowns, Fleur de Lys, anchors and umbrellas, but what we all really want to see are the pigs! Check out these little guys! Choose a navy or green background and put a smile on people’s faces, hopefully your dad’s too.
  9. Dartington oak bark belt These belts are masterpieces of traditional hand craftsmanship and we are proud to be supporting British skills in the south west of England…and they smell really good too! They come in a presentation box with a cloth bag.
  10. Montgomery holdall When we can travel again, your dad will be the smartest traveller around. Dark waxy leather has been combined with strong but lightweight canvas to create a rugged, stylish and military-looking bag.
