Heel Leather 1/4 Rubber Tip help

Soles and Heels

Goodyear welted leather sole
This is what Northampton manufactures are traditionally known for. The sole is stitched to a welt which means the shoe gives great comfort & excellent shape retention.
Welted Rubber soles
This is similar to the “Goodyear welted Leather sole” construction except the sole material is Rubber giving harder wear & better water resistant properties.
Leather Sole Rubber Fore Part
This gives all the benefits of a leather sole but the added flexibility & durability of a rubber fore part.
Cemented Leather Sole
A construction using specialised adhesives in place of stitched welts to bond the upper to the sole. This gives lightness in weight & appearance that the welted construction cannot.
Moccasin Construction
This provides a very light flexible & comfortable shoe. A bag of Leather is formed by Hand stitching an apron & the sole is then stitched or glued to the upper.

Weight A pair of these shoes in size 8 (or size 6 for ladies' styles) weighs 1.04kg

The Carnaby is a full brogue (or Wingtip) on the elegant 386 last and a great example of fine English shoemaking. These brogues are made from the finest calf leather with a Goodyear welted leather sole.

Brogues can sometimes seem a bit heavy and we wanted to produce a classic brogue with a light summery feel.  The distinctive biscuit calf leather of the Carnaby fits the bill perfectly. While it may seem a tricky colour to pair, fear not. Try combining it with lighter shades of navy blue or shades of tans and brown. A tan linen jacket, white shirt, white jeans and the biscuit Carnaby, knock out.

This item is a CUSTOMER RETURN.

CUSTOMER RETURNS are items that are perfect quality but have been returned by a customer. They may have some marks on the sole or a slight crease in the upper. We always want you to get perfect products so we cannot sell them at full price, due to these minor marks. There may also be some slight damage to the packaging. They are new, first quality items at a discount.

The 386 last is a great classic elegant shape giving good fitting qualities and comfort.

This is a standard fitting shoe so you can confidently order your normal UK size.

"The Carnaby fit me well and are offered at a very attractive price. I typically wear them with suits. I have polished to a slightly darker brown, they now complement both lighter and darker suits very well. Good when I'm feeling like a dark brown cap toe is too plain for an otherwise restrained outfit."

Just a quick thankyou for the speedy delivery. I appreciate the individual pouches, the brush and shoe horn that you supply. I bought these as seconds, and yes I can find fault, but every pair I have bought off the high street were more obviously faulty and were all sold as firsts. These are beautiful!

THis is the first pair of Herring shoes that I have purchased and I have not had them very long. I am accustomed to US sizes and used the size conversion chart on the site. It seems to be right in my case at least. The shoes arrived very quickly and they are very handsome shoes. On the day I received them they seemed a tiny bit uncomfortable and stiff. I wore them around the house for a few hours and I wore them to work one day. I am on my feet all day at work and by the end of the day they seem to have softened up a bit. I wore them around the house for a few more hours on a weekend and they seemed to be fairly well broken-in now. I am very satisfied with the quality and the look of the shoes. I bought another pair of shoes from Herring since these were so nice.

Phenomenal shoe and even more exceptional service. I can't praise the staff and their dedication to customer service enough. Where do you still find true customer service like this these days? Love working with the crew, despite the thousands of miles that separate us. Shipments are fast and neatly presented and returns, if needed, are easy and convenient.
